Dedication Mural
As lead designer for a community-centered mural commissioned by Taylor Farms in partnership with Artists Ink, I developed a large-scale visual narrative that honored agricultural workers, family values, and community pride. The project required translating a client’s vision into a cohesive, culturally resonant design through a collaborative and iterative process.
Process Breakdown
Client Consultation & Research: Met with the VP of Organizational Development and project facilitators to understand the vision, brand guidelines, and key themes, including labor, tradition, family, and community.
Client Discovery & Visioning – Conducted initial meetings with the VP of Organizational Development and project facilitator to capture key themes: teamwork, labor, heritage, sacrifice, and inspiration for future generations.
Concept Development – Synthesized discussion notes into a comprehensive visual collage that served as the foundation for the mural’s narrative structure and design direction.
Iterative Design & Revisions – Produced multiple design drafts, incorporating client feedback via email communication, while refining composition, hierarchy, and symbolism to ensure alignment with brand and cultural storytelling.
Finalization & Production – Delivered a finalized, print-ready mural design optimized for large-format reproduction. Partnered with a signage company for scaling and wall installation, ensuring visual integrity at mural scale.
Tools & Methods
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Fresco, and Procreate for digital rendering; traditional sketching for early ideation and layout planning.
Project Outcome
The completed mural stands as a vibrant visual identity piece for Taylor Farms, successfully merging graphic design principles, community storytelling, and brand alignment. The project exemplifies how design can bridge organizational goals with cultural representation to create an impactful public artwork.
